He completed elementary school in Törökkanizsa and high school (1955) in Senta. In 1962, he graduated from the Faculty of Medicine in Belgrade. In 1972, he passed the specialist examination in otolaryngology. In 1964 and 1965, he worked as a doctor in his hometown, and between 1966 and 1968, as a district and occupational health physician in Subotica. From 1968 to 1995, he was a hospital specialist. In 1995, he became a primarius.
