He completed elementary school in his hometown and high school (1951) in Nagybecskerek. From 1951 to 1957, he was a journalist for Magyar Szó. Between 1957 and 1984, he worked for 7 Nap, serving as the weekly's editor-in-chief from 1974 to 1978.
