He completed primary school in Magyarcsernye, and gymnasium (1960) in Nagybecskerek and Subotica. He studied sociology in Belgrade. Between 1966 and 1969, he worked as a sociologist at the Subotica work center. From 1971 to 1973, he was a staff member of 7 Nap. From 1973 to 1976, he was a cinema director. From 1976 to 1978, he was the director of the National Theatre in Subotica. Between 1978 and 1982, he was a municipal official in Subotica. From 1980 to 1993, he was the deputy editor-in-chief of 7 Nap, and from 1984 to 1990, its editor-in-chief and managing editor. Between 1994 and 1996, he was the founding director of Pannon Press Publishing Company and Szabad Hét Nap. From 1996 to 1998, he was the office manager of the Alliance of Vojvodina Hungarians. Between 1999 and 2010, he was the acting and appointed director of Radio Subotica. From 1971 to 1979, he was the founding editor-in-chief and managing editor of the Subotica literary, art, critical, and social science journal Üzenet. From 1992, he was the founding and perpetual honorary president of the Club of Magyarcsernye Residents. He is featured in the anthologies Élőszó (1993) and Barométer (1997).
