He completed elementary school in Szaján. In the 1938-39 academic year, he attended the Serbian civil school in Nagykikinda, and passed his junior matriculation exam at the Hungarian gymnasium in Nagykikinda in 1946. He completed his matriculation exam at the main gymnasium in Zenta in 1950. Between 1950 and 1987, he was a journalist and editor for Magyar Szó.
