He completed elementary school in Makó, graduated in Subotica (1903), and studied law in Pest. At a young age, he joined the editorial staff of Budapesti Napló. He was a contributor to Borsszem Jankó and reported for Subotica newspapers. From 1908, he took on the position of editor-in-chief of Bácsmegyei Napló. From then on, he became a leading figure in Subotica's press life. He played a particularly important role in the decade and a half following the World War, when Hungarian literature in Yugoslavia was being organized. The literary almanac Vagyunk (1928), edited and prefaced by Ferenc Fenyves, was published by Napló, aiming to demonstrate "how Vojvodina writers' hearts, souls, and thoughts resonate with Vojvodina and universal human problems, how they can express this, or in other words, how much of literature Vojvodina literature is." Ferenc Fenyves is the author of several literary studies and belletristic texts. He is featured in the Vajdasági magyar írók almanachja (1924) edited by Dettre–Radó and in the Bácsmegyei Napló Almanach (1929).
