He attended primary school in Coka and grammar school (1959) in Senta. From 1959 to 1963, he studied law in Belgrade. Between 1969 and 1975, he served as a political official. From 1975 to 1982, he was the editor-in-chief of Forum Publishing House, and from 1982 to 1986, he was the general director of the publishing house. Between 1986 and 1990, he was Yugoslavia's ambassador to Bangladesh. From 1991 to 1997, he was the deputy general director of Forum, and from 1997 to 2001, he was the director of the printing press. He was an editor for Híd (1964/1–1965/6), Új Symposion (1965/4–1967/28), and Létünk (1974–1975). Between 2000 and 2003, he was the editor-in-chief of Létünk.
