He completed elementary school in Magyarittabé and Nagybecskerek. He was a student at the teacher training college in Subotica for two years, then transferred to the applied arts high school in Novi Sad, where he graduated in 1960. From 1960 to 1961, he was a technical editor for Képes Sport. Between 1961 and 1969, he worked for Ifjúság. From 1969 to 1982, he was a dramaturg for Radio Novi Sad. Between 1982 and 1986, he served as Yugoslavia's ambassador to Guinea. From 1986 to 1999, he was deputy editor-in-chief and advisor for Novi Sad Television.
