He completed his secondary education in Nagybecskerek (Zrenjanin) and obtained a law degree in Budapest. His doctoral dissertation on Lessing was defended in Kolozsvár (Cluj-Napoca) in 1888. He first edited the Gross-Becskereker Wochenblatt, and from 1892, the Torontál. In 1908, he moved to Fiume (Rijeka) and launched the Fiumei Estilap.
