The book entitled "Without a Magic Wand" contains a selection of the author's editorials, interviews, and reports published over the past ten years, organized into chapters within the publication. The chapter titles are also highly evocative: The Cage Dweller Breaks Free; To Banat, with Respect; With the Passage of Time; and In Village-Watching. Regarding the subtitle of the section of the book containing notes, which reads "The Cage Dweller Breaks Free," the author explained that he feels that the 'cage' in question is now somewhat beginning to open, no longer constricting us as much as, for example, in the nineties, adding that it can be stated with full certainty that its door is no longer closed.
