Ady vonzáskörében

The volume traces a legend, then, through profound research, transforms into reality the relationship between Todor Manojlović, a Serbian poet and literary figure from Veliki Bečkerek, and Endre Ady. In this endeavor, the author was most aided by Manojlović's writings, memoirs, and diary entries, which sometimes speak for themselves, and sometimes serve as starting points for analysis. According to János Bányai, the book “naturally addresses the Ady–Manojlović connection, not with the intention of qualifying this acquaintance, but merely with the intention of documenting it... with precise references and quotations. Furthermore, it proves that the question of Ady's Serbian literary reception cannot be bypassed without an introduction to Todor Manojlović's work. By extensively quoting Manojlović's writings, studies, and recollections about Ady, the author demonstrated that the Serbian poet, in addition to being an enthusiastic admirer of Ady, also understood the Hungarian poet's verses and clearly perceived the poet's place in the history of modern Hungarian literature...”
