He completed primary and secondary school in his hometown in 1983. He graduated from the Department of Hungarian Language and Literature at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Novi Sad, in 1991. In 2001, he obtained a master's degree in linguistics, and in 2011, he earned a doctoral degree with his dissertation titled Syntactic, Intonational, and Communicative Characteristics of Informative Texts in Contemporary Vojvodina Hungarian Daily Press and Electronic Media. Between 1991 and 1993, he worked as a primary school teacher in Futog and Novi Sad. From 1997, he was an assistant trainee at the Department of Hungarian Language and Literature, University of Novi Sad, an assistant from 2005 to 2012, then an associate professor from 2012, and subsequently an extraordinary university professor.
