He completed elementary school in his birthplace, civic school in Kikinda, Subotica, and Mohol, and teacher training college in Novi Sad and Subotica. He obtained a university degree from the Department of History at the Faculty of Philosophy in Belgrade in 1955. Between 1948 and 1952, he was a teacher in Hertelendyfalva, from 1952 to 1955 a lecturer, and then from 1955 to 1960 a teacher. From 1960 to 1962, he was an elementary school teacher in Pančevo. From 1962 to 1989, he was first a high school teacher, then a technical school teacher and school principal in Hertelendyfalva, and later at the high school in Pančevo.
