He completed primary school and three grades of high school in his hometown, graduating in Zagreb in 1973. He earned his degree from the Department of German Language and Literature at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Novi Sad, in 1977. Between 1971 and 1973, he lived and worked in Germany. From 1977 to 2002, he was an employee of the National Library in Kikinda. From 2002 to 2005, he worked as a primary school teacher and librarian in Saján, and then in Padej. As a local historian, he primarily focuses on the excavation of Hungarian and Swabian mass graves, the cultural heritage of Germans in Banat, and genealogical research. He publishes in foreign journals.
