Ethnographic Collections – Country house museum in Rusko Selo
The Torontál Hungarian Educational, Cultural and Youth Centre of Rusko Selo, founded in 2004, focuses specifically on preserving the material heritage of the local Hungarian community. From the very beginning, one of its main goals was to establish a country house museum, which was successfully realized at the end of 2004 and the beginning of 2005. To furnish the country house museum, a rammed-earth house was purchased, in which a clean room, a kitchen, and a living room were arranged. The furnishings were assembled from donations by the residents of Rusko Selo, including items from the material heritage of the Ördög, Talpai, Aranyos, and Szekeres families. The collection includes valuable pieces such as household textiles and traditional costume elements, furniture, devotional objects, and prayer books.
